Top Seven Fitness Secrets of Celebrities
Is it not the case that you adore superstars who seem to effortlessly shed pounds in a matter of weeks, only to flaunt their toned stomachs on an Ibiza beach? We put a lot of pressure on ourselves to achieve the same impossibly difficult goal, but here we will tell you that no matter how hard you train, you will never look like them. If you try, though, you can get quite close. You’ll appear Gwyneth Paltrow-esque in your skinny pants in no time if you follow these three suggestions.
Snacks other than Meal
You recall how your mother used to tell you to avoid snacking because it would destroy your appetite? And all of you said, “But I’m so hungry!” Now you can tell your mother that low-fat protein eating is OK, according to Harley Pasternak, creator of the Five Factor Diet and trainer to Lady Gaga, Kanye West, and Katy Perry. His favorite foods are edamame and nonfat Greek yogurt topped with frozen berries. He also writes about salmon sashimi with fresh figs and plums in a balsamic cream sauce in his book.
Stripping and Pole Dancing
Actress Amy Adams despises the treadmill so much that, in an attempt to shed some baby weight, she decided to go full stripper pants on us. Yes, the actress, well-known for her innocent and lovely parts in shows like The Muppets and Enchanted, is a fan of pole dancing. Additionally, Emma Watson, Cindy Crawford, and Kate Hudson all mentioned pole dancing as a crucial component of their training regimens, according to some insider sources (ahem, tabloids). It is alleged that Hudson even put a pole in her restroom. (It may seem strange to dance by the toilet, but whatever works.)
Body Push
It feels amazing to run circles around the track, right? “I’m burning the carbs, woo hooray!” That’s not enough, according to Joe Dowdell, president of the NYC-based Peak Performance Strength and Conditioning Center, which trains Anne Hathaway and Claire Danes. He would also prefer it if you were, uh, systematic. The fitness guru advises starting your workout strong and taking short breaks of 20 to 30 seconds between sets. Take extra time to rest in between sets when you’re nearing the end of your workout and feel like you’re going to pass out.
Splurge Daily
Tracy Anderson, Paltrow’s business partner and trainer, offers us all a license to not starve ourselves. Um, thank you. “Select your favorite meal and make it your one-time calorie indulgence for that particular day,” advises Anderson. She recommends substituting protein smoothies or energy bars for the other two meals (she particularly likes Bliss Bar Superfood Energy Bars).

Although meals delivered right to your door are nothing new, Paula Abdul, Olivia Munn, and Shenae Grimes think The Fresh Diet meals are amazing. The company’s website claims a plethora of success stories, including Us Weekly’s designation as the “best diet of 2011” and Self’s gold star award. The three meals, two snacks, and two sides (including pesto couscous-stuffed tomatoes) on the menus seem reasonable enough, but what appealed to us was the no cleanup and no cooking clause. Yes, the 31-Day Total Transformation costs $44.99 per day, but have you seen Olivia Munn?
Never, ever give up Working Out
Work out, work out, and work out some more when everything else fails. That’s what Jennifer Aniston tells InStyle, at least. She exercises five or six days a week. whirling. Pilates, yoga, and cardio. And you believe that, on press junkets, she places those calorie-laden late-night room service orders? Oh, no. “I take eight-pound weights with me whenever I’m staying in a hotel,” she explains. “Doing arm workouts while watching TV or on the phone is always an excellent idea. Before going to bed, I also enjoy stretching and usually do a few sit-ups. And that’s the reason Jennifer Aniston looks like Jennifer Aniston.
Never Starve Yourself
Surprisingly, TV anchor Kelly Ripa doesn’t think diets are a good idea, given how slender she is. Nevertheless, she stated to herself, “I don’t diet because I think moderation is important.” My sinful indulgence is french fries. It seems that celebrities know everything. “Kelly is spot-on by not making excuses for herself,” adds Los Angeles resident Ashley Koff, RD. Based on multiple studies demonstrating that you will spontaneously combust if you do not consume at least one french fry, Dr. Oz developed an entire diet plan around eating what you love.
